Happy Release Day Amanda V Shane

About The Book

Pale, cold mistress of the serpent’s lair, blood red lips and coal black hair…

Enter the world of the Black Swan, a dark and seductive tale where things are not always 43712757as they seem. Odile is the reviled villainess of Aarroughac, a castle inhabited by the evil wizard, Count Rothebart. After a sinister magic sweeps through the land and results in death, Odile is accused of the crime. Von Rothebart vanishes, leaving her to face the wrath of an entire kingdom alone until a mysterious stranger with powers of his own comes along.

With vengeance as his guide, Lord Azarus di Caspari hunts an ancient curse. When he crosses paths with the Black Swan of legend, he immediately makes up his mind to use the temptress’s magic for his own devices. But when Azarus learns that the story of the sorceress might not be true, disappointment gives way to desire. Spells are cast and secrets are revealed, but can love exist in the shadow of two dark hearts such as theirs?

Are the tales of the Black Swan true? Is she a murderess and an evil sorceress to be feared or is she the only thing standing between true evil and the fall of a kingdom? Only time will tell as the magical story of the Black Swan unfolds

My Thoughts

I was provided a copy of Odile for an honest review.

First off, I need to start by saying,  that Miss Shane’s book covers are some of the most stunning I have seen.  It is what initially drew me to her work, seeing the cover of her first novel The Snow Maiden. The is also the first book in her Enchanted Lands series.  Although it is a standalone, it is a must read!!

Amanda, is an amazing storyteller and her words spread across the pages like magic.

Told in both the past and present,  the retelling of Odile is seductive and captivating.  The lure of her story unfolding page by page, as Miss Shane takes you into world of the Black Swan.

I am always left with a bewitched feeling at the end of Miss Shane’s novels as though she has cast a spell on you.  Odile, Legend of the Black Swan is no different.

I am really loving the Enchanted Land series, and this is another 5* read for me.

About the Author
Amanda is a Colorado native and fully admits to being a library dork growing up. To thisheadshots-002 day, she loves the smell of book paper on an almost fetish level (okay, maybe not, but that gives you a peek into the dark and twisted mind of this author). One of her first book romances came at the age of nine when, in a far back aisle, she found the story of King Arthur and was entranced by the blood purple canvas cover with gold leafing (she likes shiny things.)

Since then, she’s been hooked on stories with magic, mythical beings, daring heroes and, of course, desperate romance. Today, all of the thumbnails on her e-reader sport book covers with chiseled jaws and “shiny” abs but the stories are no less magical, no matter what genre.

She writes paranormal and fantasy romance from her home where she lives with her family and a Bassett hound who she routinely has to fight for the “soft” end of the couch to set up with her laptop. She likes chocolate, wine, coffee and kids, in no particular order.

Review | Luna and The Lie | Mariana Zapata

About The Book

42883009The problem with secrets is that they’re too easy to keep collecting.

Luna Allen has done some things she would rather no one ever know about. She also knows that, if she could go back in time, she wouldn’t change a single thing.

With three sisters she loves, a job she (mostly) adores, and a family built up of friends she’s made over the years, Luna figures everything has worked out the way it was supposed to.

But when one of those secrets involves the man who signs her paycheck, she can’t find it in her to regret it. Despite the fact that he’s not the friendliest man in the world. Or the most patient.

Sometimes there are things you’re better off keeping to yourself

My Thoughts

Can I just start by saying that I love books by Mariana Zapata.  I get super excited when I see a new one has released.

She never fails to write the most brooding, frustrating, pain in the ass and intensely hot male characters and Ripley is no exception to this rule.

OMG honestly, I love him and I love Miss Zapata for writing him.

I read all of her books within days and Luna and The Lie was no different.  Miss Zapata is a pure artist when it comes to writing contemporary romance.

My only issue with this book was that Luna was a little too oblivious and her poor me attitude was a bit too much for my liking when it comes to female character leads.

But overall it was another great 4 star release by Mariana Zapata.

About The Author

Mariana Zapata began writing love stories soon after she learned how to spell. She probably shouldn’t admit that she started sneaking romance novels from her aunt’s e8c37f_5f58b3a4a1e141f68facd6368d435dbe~mv2_d_1280_1920_s_2bookshelves way before she was old enough to even understand what it meant when a man flipped up a woman’s skirt… don’t tell her mom. Luckily, she stuck to stories about princesses and princes for a while. In her teens, she wrote boy band fanfiction (there’s still a website up somewhere on the internet with those masterpieces), and in her early twenties, she picked it back up again with Sookie Stackhouse and Twilight. Eventually, her significant other finally told her to do what she wanted to do and she began working on her original work. Her novels tend to include potty humor, bodily functions, and bad words. Mariana lives in a small town called Pagosa Springs, Colorado with her husband/best friend, Chris Letchford, and their two well-beloved (and emotionally manipulative) Great Dane children, Dorian and Kaiser. When she’s not pretending to write, she’s reading sci-fi, fantasy, steampunk or historical romance novels. You can usually find her harassing her dogs, being a hermit at home or cracking jokes at the expense of her family members.

Review | Queen of His Heart | Suzanna Lynn

About The Book

When you play your cards always have a Queen in your hand.43236338

Officer Samantha Daniels has been given a dangerous mission; go undercover to get close to criminal mastermind, Dominic Murphy. However, becoming one of the king pin’s family isn’t as simple as introducing yourself with a basket of muffins.

Samantha must keep it together as she dives into her dark side, all while undergoing a terrible ignition that could take her life. However, torture can turn anyone’s mind to mush, and she discovers a whole new side of herself as she slowly gives into Dominic and his murderous tendencies.

Add a dash of insanity and a touch of Stockholm Syndrome, and you have a romance made of inner demons and blood.

It’s a sexy blood covered romance gone wrong; or maybe right

My Thoughts

I was provided a copy of Queen of His Heart for my honest option.

This was my first read by Suzanna Lynn.  Having never read any of her previous works, I was sure what kind of writer she would be.  Boy was I in for a treat.

Miss Lynn executed a well plotted, unique mafia type storyline that kept me engaged.

Her characters were intense and the chemistry was profound and powerful.  Definitely edging on the side of Harley Quinn/ Joker personalities.

And the ending will leave you want more, much more.

Although I did feel that it could have concluded a bit sooner it did not take away from the overall read and feel of the book.

If you are looking for something a little different, check out this 4.5 star novel, Queen of His Heart by Suzanna Lynn.

About The Author

Author Suzanna Lynn is a full-time mom of three beautiful, energetic children and spends her days with them and her husband in a small town nestled in the deep rolling hills of Missouri.

8068674Growing up in the Ozarks, as a child Suzanna spent her days wandering the fields and woods surrounding her home. While most children avoided the dark corners of the woods, she sought it out, imagining them to be filled with fairies, dragons and all number of creatures.

Having not lost her childhood imagination, Suzanna has written numerous poems, songs and short stories that won various awards in high school and college.

However, in 2014 she decided to stop wishing she could publish a book and made the dream a reality when she released The Bed Wife.

That first novella gave birth to two more books, completing the series, and stirred the embers of a new five-book series called The Untold Stories, which is currently in the works.

When she’s not busy writing or spending time with her family, Suzanna loves to draw and paint, as well as scrapbook. She also has been known to volunteer with her children’s school, the local Ladies Auxiliary veterans group and even the local zoo!

My Thoughts

I was provided an ARC copy of From The Grave for my honest review.

The MacKenzie Grey Trials is new set of books set in the world of Miss Espinosa’s Origin series, but takes place after the revolution.  Although it is not necessary to have read the 4 novels in the Origin series, it does help with some of the references made in From The Grave.

First I have to say, that I love the way Karina Espinosa writes.  In her past works,  she has crafted words to paper and made them come alive in the readers minds.  From The Grave is no different.

MacKenzie Grey is a stubborn, but strong willed and independent female lead, which personally I love.  And Bash, really knowing he has no choice, wisely lets her have her freedom.

From The Grave is full of plot twists and sneaky turns.  A great start to a new series for Karina Espinosa.

After reading this 4 star urban fantasy novel, I am looking forward to digging into Book 2.

About the Author

Karina Espinosa is the Urban Fantasy author of the Sins of the Fallen series and the Karina EspinosaMackenzie Grey novels.  Infatuated with travel, pop culture and the need to write everything down, she spends much of her days in front of a computer working on her next book, shopping online and listening to music.  With nomadic tendencies, she is currently resting her head in South Florida until the itch to move strikes again.
